Summer has only just begun and already the heat in Texas is staggering. When thinking up ways to keep cool during the hot afternoons, popsicles come to mind, of course!
I love that these popsicles aren’t full of sugar and empty calories. They pack quite the nutritional punch! Organic blueberries, local honey, and chia seeds make them the perfect healthy treat for my kiddos.
Ever tried chia seeds? Chia seeds are an unprocessed, whole-grain food with a mild nutty flavor. They have quite a bit of fiber (10g per 1 oz) so you should only eat a small amount at a time. Chia seeds are also rich in omega-3 fats and protein. I love that it’s so convenient to add them to just about anything – like salads, smoothies, and popsicles!
I love that I caught my daughter licking her lips in this shot. She couldn’t wait to eat that popsicle!
