Hidden Valley ranch dressing was one of the very last processed foods for our family to give up. It wasn’t without trying though! In addition to trying every other bottled ranch dressing available, we tried countless homemade dressings. None could compare.
Until recently.
Finally. FINALLY, I found a recipe that tastes just as good.
Now, it doesn’t taste exactly like Hidden Valley ranch, but to me, it tastes better, fresher. I love it. Now I can resume eating ranch dressing on everything – without the guilt!
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons dried parsley
- 1 tablespoon sea salt
- 2 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Bulk Spice Mixture
- 1 cup TOTAL of one or more of the following: yogurt, kefir, sour cream, buttermilk, and/or milk
Directions
- Mix all spices together and store in an airtight container.
- Mix 1 tablespoon spice mixture with 1 cup of one or more milk-based ingredients. Our favorite mixtures are 1 cup yogurt with dash of milk OR ¾ cup kefir with ¼ cup yogurt. Mix together what you think you’ll like until you get the consistency you prefer.

Your ranch dressing sounds delicious, and I like the idea of keeping the spice mixture on hand so you can whip it up at a moment’s notice!

This sounds like a delicious dressing. I can see using the spice mixture for other things, too, like on fish.
