How to Make Berries Last Longer

This simple trick will clean your berries and keep them fresh for weeks!

Love fresh berries, but hate that they grow mold so quickly? Washing your berries in the following solution will keep them fresh much longer!

Did you know that simply rinsing your berries with water does not remove all of the pesticides, bacteria, and mold? Using vinegar and lemon to clean your berries will disinfect your berries and kill any mold spores.

By doing this, your raspberries can last up to one week and your strawberries can last up to two weeks!

How to Make Berries Last Longer

  1. Rinse berries under cold filtered water.
  2. Fill a large bowl or your clean sink with 5 cups of cold filtered water.
  3. Add 1/2 cup vinegar and 3-4 drops of lemon essential oil to the water and stir.
  4. Add your berries and gently stir.
  5. Let your berries soak for 8-10 minutes.
  6. Drain and rinse your berries again.
  7. Let berries dry on a clean towel.
  8. Store in glass containers in the refrigerator.

You won’t be able to taste the vinegar or lemon because it is so diluted, especially if you rinse them well after the soak.

Now, you can enjoy your berries without worry!
