Milkshake Fake Out: Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

Chocolate peanut butter banana smoothie! YUM! Makes a great healthy milkshake substitute!

If you’re looking for a sweet and indulgent treat, minus the guilt, then this is the smoothie for you!

I won’t promise that it tastes exactly like a chocolate milkshake, but considering how good it tastes for how little sweetener it contains, I think it’s about as close as you can get for something that’s still reasonably good for you!

Milkshake Fake Out: Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie


  • 2 bananas, sliced and frozen
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons cacao powder
  • 3 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla


  1. Blend all the ingredients together until well mixed and creamy.

  4. I make this all the time. The only think I do differently is use sugar if I have no honey and I add add ice cubes for a slightly lighter version (it goes a little further that way). This is one of our family’s favorites!!! :)

  6. I’ve been making this smoothie for several months now (after I first saw it on Pinterest)! It’s so delicious – thank you for sharing! The only difference is that I omit the vanilla and honey (it’s not quite as sweet, but just about!) and add a handful of spinach (which you cannot taste whatsoever – sometimes that hidden spinach will be my toddler’s only greens for the day!). I’ve also recently started subbing the milk for almond milk to cut down on calories and it’s just as yummy. Thought I’d share my variations. :)
